Job Title: React/Full Stack Developer

Department: Informational Technology

Reports to: Senior Software Engineer

Location: USA-based Remote position with Pacific time preferred.

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time

Function:

Design, develop and implement robust front-end user interface components utilizing advanced knowledge of JavaScript and proficiency with React.js. Utilize knowledge of back-end development including the structure, system, data, and logic in relation to our proprietary technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, code, debug, test and integrate software application solutions for systems.
  • Analyze complex systems specifications of existing programs to determine requirements.
  • Participate in requirements, design and coding walkthroughs to ensure the development of quality solutions.
  • Determine how existing applications, systems, databases, and interfaces can interact to meet new and emerging enterprise initiatives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure that systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view.
  • Proactively identify problems and present/develop solutions.
  • Full stack participant with emphasis on the client application, but having knowledge of and some skills in back-end.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of JavaScript (ES6) and experience with React.
  • Strong relational database skills, including writing queries, understanding keys and constraints, and determining the relationships between data with minimal guidance.
  • Experience building complex layouts using CSS (flex and CSS grid) and HTML.
  • Proficient with Git and collaborative software development, including fully participating in PR code review process.
  • Prior PHP experience, or the ability and willingness to learn.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and debugging skills (ability to debug issues in a complex full-stack environment.)
  • 5+ years of development experience producing high quality business applications.
  • Willingness to code to pre-established code conventions.
  • Ability to develop both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to positively collaborate and communicate with team and other stakeholders.
  • Must be willing to travel to San Francisco corporate headquarters several times per year.
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, computer science, or similar field; or other Bachelor’s degree with additional significant hands-on software development experience.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with automated test methodologies and writing both unit tests and end-to-end tests. (We use Playwright and Vitest.)
  • Solid familiarity with the libraries and tooling involved in modern single-page applications.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and Docker containers.
  • DevOps experience.
  • QA experience.
  • Prior experience developing business applications for finance or transportation businesses a plus.

Compensation Range

$110,000 - $140,000 annual wage plus eligibility for an annual bonus
